Water resource plan
The Water Resource (Pioneer Valley) Plan 2002 was amended in October 2009.
Water resource plan amendment
The Pioneer Valley Water Resource Plan, released in December 2002, was amended on 8 October 2009. The amended plan (Water Resource [Pioneer Valley] Amendment Plan 2009) (PDF)* has inclusions to:
- extend the plan area to include surface water in the Sandringham and Alligator creeks catchments, and
- provide for the sustainable allocation and management of groundwater resources across the amended plan area.

The consultation report (PDF, 483K)* summarises the issues raised during the community consultation process and how they were assessed and dealt with in finalising the plan amendment.
Resource operations plan
The current Pioneer Valley Resource Operations Plan (PDF, 501K)* came into effect in June 2007 (reprint 1 of June 2005). The plan was amended to:
- include proposed critical water supply arrangements and associated changes to water sharing rules,
- change the water year for the Eton Water Supply Scheme,
- update monitoring and reporting arrangements,
- remove transitional provisions that are now no longer required,
- clarify requirements for dealing with applications to subdivide and amalgamate water licences,
- correct minor errors, ambiguities and omissions that were identified.
The plan amendment has been finalised following a period of consultation and review that began with the release of a draft amendment in January 2007. The amended plan is known as the Pioneer Valley Resource Operations Plan June 2007 (reprint 1 of June 2005). Proposal to prepare a draft resource operations plan amendment
On 5 November 2010, the Chief Executive of the Department of Environment and Resource Management announced his intention to prepare a draft amendment (PDF, 3.7M)* to the Pioneer Valley Resource Operations Plan 2007 to address groundwater management, and to deal with water licences and other authorisations to take unsupplemented surface water in the Pioneer Valley.
Individuals, groups and other interested parties were invited to contribute to the development of the proposed amendment to the Pioneer Valley Resource Operations Plan. The submission period has now closed.
