About Daisy Hill
Daisy Hill Koala Centre is an information centre about koalas, 25km from the centre of Brisbane.
Blending into its bushland setting, the Centre has displays about koalas on two levels.
Special programs are provided for visitors during holiday periods and the Centre has a curriculum-based environmental education program for schools.
The Koala Centre is located within Daisy Hill Forest Reserve, Daisy Hill Road, Daisy Hill. Open euclaypt forest at Daisy Hill Forest Reserve (435ha) has long been a popular bushland retreat. Many native animals live here as well as koalas.
The centre is part of an area known as the Koala Coast, the area bounded by the Logan River, Pacific Highway, Gateway Motorway, Manly Road, Whites Road and Lota Creek.
Open every day from 10am until 4pm (except Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Good Friday), the Koala Centre was enjoyed by 70 000 people last year. Admission is free and walkways are suitable for wheelchairs.
If travelling south from Brisbane along the Pacific Highway, take the Shailer Park exit, turn left into Shailer Road then right into Daisy Hill Road. Follow the road to the Forest Reserve.
If travelling from Beenleigh, turn off the Pacific Highway at the Daisy Hill-Loganlea exit, then right onto the overpass and right again into Winnetts Road. Turn left into Daisy Hill Road and continue to the Forest Reserve.
