Environment and Resource Management

Partnerships

The Nature Refuges Program is collaborating with partners to work towards the department vision of an environmentally sustainable Queensland. Working with others allows for more reach and influence for conservation. The department alone cannot protect significant natural and cultural values on properties, it requires us all working together.

Many community groups, non-government organisations, regional natural resource management groups and commercial entities are forming partnerships with the department to help in promote and deliver the Nature Refuges Program and sustainable land management practices.

Partners with the Nature Refuges Program operate under Memoranda of Understanding or Letters of Agreement. There are standard terms and conditions to each agreement, however agreements can be modified to suit either the department or partner organisation needs.

Current Nature Refuges Program partners include:

Queensland Government
Blueprint for the Bush
AGFORCE
Conservation Volunteers
Fitzroy Basin Association
Burdekin Dry Tropics NRM
Condamine Alliance
Burnett Mary Regional Group
Southern Gulf Catchments
Northern Gulf Resource
South West NRM Ltd
Terrain
