Environment and Resource Management

Coastcare

The Coastcare program was terminated on 30 June 2003.

Coastcare was a program that provided funding for community groups to undertake local environmental projects in the coastal zone. State and Commonwealth Governments jointly funded the program, and individual projects were often supported by Local Government.

The program was conducted by the department in Queensland and a total of 327 projects were funded during the seven grant rounds from 1995/96 until 2001/02.

Those interested in obtaining information about community based natural resource management, including environmental grants through the Australian Government Envirofund, can access current information from Environment Australia's Natural Heritage Trust website at http://www.nht.gov.au/ and Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Mining website at /community/funding.html
