Regional Ecosystem Description Database

REDD is the Regional Ecosystem Description Database, a database to accompany the Queensland Herbarium regional ecosystem mapping.

The database contains updated regional ecosystem descriptions in the format of 'The Conservation Status of Queensland's Bioregional Ecosystems' (Sattler and Williams 1999) and descriptions of additional regional ecosystem recognised since 1999.

The Biodiversity Status listed on this database is based on an assessment of the condition of remnant vegetation in addition to the pre-clearing and remnant extent of a regional ecosystem. The current Biodiversity Status is given on the Regional Ecosystem Description Database.

The Vegetation Management Act Status for regional ecosystems is as per the Vegetation Management Amendment Regulation (PDF)*. The Vegetation Management Act 1999 status is based on an assessment of the pre-clearing and remnant extent of a regional ecosystem.
