Australian Curriculum resources

A bank of curriculum activities for units of work aligned to the Australian Curriculum: Science and the Australian Curriculum: Geography is currently in development. The activities will be listed here when they become available on this website.

Essential Learnings resources

The Essential Learnings curriculum was published by the Queensland Studies Authority in 2007 and used for Years Preparatory–10 in Queensland schools until 2011. Sustainable Schools resources

The Water: Learn it for life! program works with schools interested in promoting sustainability through their curriculum and school management practices.

The Waterwise Earth Smart Schools Project, in partnership with the Department of Education and Training’s Earth Smart Science Schools Program, assists schools in implementing the water component of their School Environmental Management Plans.

The project targeted schools in four regions: Far North Queensland, Central Queensland, South East Queensland and South West Queensland. The Earth Smart Science School facilitators received additional funding to work intensively with schools in their region interested in implementing Waterwise programs.

Read some project case studies (PDF, 1.6M)* that outline the innovative and effective ways in which students and teachers have creatively met the challenge of reducing school water wastage.

For additional information and support resources about how schools can become more sustainable go to the Queensland Sustainable Schools website.
