Waterwise Schools Recognition Program

Queensland primary schools are invited to participate in the Waterwise Schools Recognition Program. The aim of this program is to:
- encourage waterwise attitudes and behaviour
- demonstrate ongoing commitment to the Water: Learn it for life! program.

Why join the program?
The program offers opportunities for:
- real-life student learning
- positive publicity for your school
- positive attitudinal and behavioural changes in children and their families
- conveying key water messages to the community
- learning about water efficiency.
Achievement levels
The three levels of achievement, which reflect a school's water-saving attitude and behaviour as well as the length of time it has been actively participating in the program are:
Cash awards
During 2008–09, cash awards totalling $30,000 will be available to selected schools that achieve the status of:
- Waterwise School
- Lighthouse Waterwise School of Excellence.
How to participate
To sign up for the program, complete the online registration form.
You will then receive information to get you started, and the name of your school will be recorded on the Water: Learn it for life! website.
As you progress through the achievement levels, the website will be upated to record your progress, and you will be eligible for other incentives along the way.
