The Water Cycle Series (the series) is a new water education resource that illustrates key concepts needed to understand the sustainable use of water.
The series includes the Inland Water Cycle poster (PDF, 1.3M)* and guideline (PDF, 363K)* for use, and the Water Cycle Package, which comprises the Water Cycle poster (PDF, 2.2M)*, Total Water Cycle Management poster (PDF, 2.0M)* and a comprehensive set of guidelines (PDF, 221K)* to accompany them.
The series aims to provide Queensland water educators and teachers with resources and information to build learning about:
- the precious nature of water
- the natural water cycle
- water sources, supply and storage
- groundwater, including the Great Artesian Basin
- water use and reuse in urban and rural locations
- drinking water and wastewater treatment
- sustainable water management.
The series has a unique Queensland feel and has been designed to complement the Water: Learn it for life! program and the Bucket loads of savings! Package. While the main target audience is students aged between 4 and 15, the series can also be used with adult audiences as part of community education programs.
