Water Allocations Register

The Water Allocations Register is an accurate and secure register that centrally records ownership and other information on water allocations, which are assets separate from land. This is similar to how details of land ownership and dealings are recorded on the Land Registry, and the Registrar of Land Titles is also the Registrar of Water Allocations.

To have effect, the trade of a water allocation must be recorded on the register.

Searching the register

You can search the Water Allocations Register for a copy of a water allocation title at a departmental Land Information and Titles Office and paying the required fee.

Searches of titles and copies of dealings are also available from public access providers.

To conduct a search, you need to know the lot on plan number and title reference of the water allocation.
