- North West Queensland Draft Regional Water Supply Strategy

Water users in North West Queensland have been invited to have their say on a draft strategy to secure the region's water supplies for the next 50 years.
The strategy covers the Gulf catchments from the Northern Territory border to the Staaten River catchment at the base of Cape York and includes the local government areas of Mt Isa, Cloncurry, McKinlay, Richmond, Etheridge, Croydon, Burke, Doomadgee, Mornington Island and parts of Carpentaria, Flinders and Tablelands.

The Queensland Government has finalised environmental values and water quality objectives for the Fitzroy Basin in Central Queensland under the Environmental Protection (Water) Policy 2009.
