Property vegetation management plans

All applications to clear require a property vegetation management plan (PVMP). A PVMP provides the department with the information needed to make a decision on a vegetation clearing application. A PVMP must include details on:

  1. the purpose of the application  - the clearing must be for one of the 'relevant purposes' listed in the Vegetation Management Act 1999 (Section 22A) and described in the regional vegetation management codes 
  2. Details of the way the proposed clearing achieves the required outcomes under:
  1. the location and extent of the area proposed to be cleared which can be shown by:
  1. if an offset is proposed to satisfy a required outcome under a code applying to the application:

If an application is for a material change of use or for reconfiguring a lot, the PVMP must also include:

  1. details of the location and extent of infrastructure—including buildings, fences, roads and electrical, telecommunication or sewerage services—and firebreaks and fire management lines
  2. details of the way the proposed clearing complies with the applicable concurrence agency policy

A property vegetation management plan may include any other information the applicant considers may assist in the assessment of the application.
