Australian Hawksbill Turtle Population Dynamics Project

This report is based on a 5 year study planned and initiated through consultation between one of the authors (CJ Limpus) and representatives of the Japan Bekko Association (JBA). The study aimed to quantify a comprehensive spectrum of parameters for wild Hawksbill turtle populations that can guide planning for sustained management of Hawksbill stocks in the South-western Pacific region. This publication reports on the JBA funded studies undertaken with Hawksbill turtle populations foraging and nesting within Eastern Australia and the Gulf of Carpentaria.
