Data collation
QLUMP uses a number of existing datasets to support mapping decisions, which either define the land use for an areas based on tenure (e.g. National Parks) or provide valuable information about possible land uses (e.g. satellite imagery). This includes:
- land cover (1999), produced by the Statewide Landcover and Tree Study (SLATS) team
- Landsat TM and ETM imagery (1999 & 2004), radiometrically corrected, rectified and re-sampled to a resolution of 25m metres by SLATS
- cadastral information from NRM's digital cadastral database (DCDB) linked to the Queensland Valuation and Sales Database and the Water Entitlements Registration Database
- protected areas
- state forests and timber reserves
- plantations
- dams and weirs
- coastal wetlands.
For each catchment additional datasets will often be available. These are also used to assist decision making and can include: zone designations by local council, specific crop or horticulture data and soils mapping. Reference datasets such as localities, roads and drainage are also used.
