Search tips

Guided search

All documents in the database have been linked to one or more of the headings listed. The number of documents on each topic is listed at the side.

To find all the documents on a particular topic select the box beside that topic. If you want to refine the search further by linking two concepts together, just select the two relevant boxes.

For example, if you select 'Cotton' you will return all the documents that discuss cotton. If you select 'Cotton' and 'Nutrient run-off' you will return only the documents that discuss both nutrient run-off and cotton.

To restrict your search by location, publication date, or publication format use the optional limit boxes at the bottom

For example, select 'Cotton' and then limit to 'Queensland only' and limit to 'Current year only' to return documents on cotton research in Queensland published in the current year.

Though it is possible to limit by more than two concepts, this may narrow the search too much and result in no hits, as the database is not huge.

Keyword search

The keyword search searches only the title, author, and descriptor fields of each document, so this option is best used for searching for specific titles or authors.  For subject searches, use the guided search option.

You can use one or more keywords of your choice. The search engine defaults to an 'and' search, i.e a search on:
