Aqualysis Pty Ltd

Energy efficient chlorination control system for salt water swimming pools and spas

QSEIF Funding: $200,000

Project date: 2007

Project details

Aqualysis developed a low cost device to reduce the energy needed to maintain high water quality in swimming pools by optimising pool operation according to real-time measurement of chlorine levels.

The technology

Aqualysis developed a spectoscropic analyser to test pool chlorine levels. It accurately measures chlorine levels every 15 minutes, allowing the chlorinator and pump to shut off as soon as the desired chlorine level is reached.

Project update

Since completing the project, Aqualysis are continuing to prepare the chlorine tester for market. This has involved making the technology more robust and ironing out issues regarding its manufacturing.
