Title search or copy of document or plan
You can obtain a title search, copy of a registered document or plan relating to a block of land, or a title search or registered document relating to a water allocation, by:
- visiting a DERM business centre; or
- telephoning the Titles Registry customer enquiry service. An EFTPOS card or credit card is required and an additional fee applies for sending the search.
You can also obtain a search via the internet from a public access provider approved by the department.
Payment of fees
The required fee for searching the registers at a DERM business centre depends on the type of search. You may pay by:
- cash
- cheque
- Australian currency travellers’ cheque
- money order
- EFTPOS—including credit card (except Diners Club) for amounts over $10
Please make cheques or money orders payable to the Department of Environment and Resource Management.
Public access providers have their own pricing policy.
Records that can be searched
Records of ownership, other interests and transactions relating to State and freehold land and water allocations in Queensland that may be searched are held in the following accurate, secure and readily accessible registers:
- freehold land register
- leasehold land register
- register of unallocated State Land
- power of attorney register
- register of reserves
- register of licences and permits
- register of State housing leases
- register of foreign ownership of land
- register under part 18 of the Property Law Act 1974
- register of Harbour Board leases
- register of water allocations.
- register of plantation licence
