Definition
'The software' includes all HyperText Markup Language (htm, html) and JavaScript (js) files that comprise the DERM Land Titles Fee Calculator.
Current version
This calculator is valid only in the current financial year. After this date, you will need to download a new version to cover annual changes in lodgment fees.
Browsers and operating systems
You can use this downloadable calculator without first connecting to the internet. You will not need any specific hardware or software, apart from a computer with a web-capable operating system and an appropriate web browser. Those successfully tested include:

There is no guarantee that the calculator will function correctly with operating systems or browsers not included in this list.
NOTE:
In some versions of Internet Explorer you may experience a yellow information bar appearing when you open the calculator.
This information bar will notify you that Internet Explorer has restricted the calculator from running the scripts required to calculate lodgment fees. To remove the information bar, allowing the scripts to run, click anywhere inside it with the mouse and select the option “allow blocked content”, then select “yes” when the security warning window appears. This will then allow the calculator to display and function in its entirety.
Download formats
The calculator is available in a zip format and a self-extracting exe file.
Due to security restrictions within the operating system, there is also a separate version available for use with Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Zip format
The zip format file provides maximum compatibility with decompression software available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS and Linux operating systems.
If you do not have unzip software, decompression programs available from third party sites include:
- WinZip for Microsoft Windows
- Winrar for Microsoft Windows
- StuffIt Expander for Microsoft Windows or Mac OS
- Gunzip for Linux
- Windows built-in compression tool
How to install
- Download the fee_calculator.zip file into a temporary directory of your choice (e.g. c:\temp).
- Decompress the file using the unzip software, ensuring that it is decompressed into the directory labelled C:\. If necessary, refer to the help documentation on the zip file.
- If you have done this correctly, a DERM fee calculator icon will appear on your desktop.
- Double-click the icon to start using the calculator.
Self-extracting exe format
The exe file is intended only for those using a Windows-based operating system without unzip software installed on their computer.
How to install
- Download the fee_calculator.exe or fee_calculator_vista.exe file into a temporary directory of your choice (e.g. C:\temp).
- Non-Windows Vista users decompress the file by double-clicking the exe file.
- Windows Vista and Windows 7 users need to right-click the exe file; select Run as administrator; select Allow in the pop-up window and follow the instructions below.
- In the winzip self-extractor pop-up window, check the location in the unzip to folder.
- If this does not display c:\, type it in.
- Left click on the unzip button.
- A message saying 32 file(s) unzipped sucessfully should appear. Left click the OK button to close this message.
- Left click the close button to close the winzip self-extractor window.
- If you have successfuly installed all the files you should now see a DERM Fee Calculator icon on your desktop.
- Double-click the icon to start using the calculator.
