Background
DERM is currently considering a proposal to alter the locality boundaries of Alexandra Hills and Birkdale within the City of Redland.
The proposed boundary amendment will effectively re-align 32 properties from the locality of Alexandra Hills to the locality of Birkdale. This would ensure that all the properties aligning Fullerton Street would be located in the locality of Birkdale.
The main reason provided for the proposed amendment is to address confusion relating to the delivery of essential services since the boundary was changed in 2005. The submission also contends that residents were not fully consulted about the previous boundary change.
