Queensland Spatial Imagery Subscription Plan

Government and non-government agencies can acquire imagery by working together than in isolation.

The Subscription Plan was developed by the Spatial Imagery Working Group and is supported by the Queensland Spatial Information Council (QSIC). This Plan for spatial imagery acquisition aims to achieve:

Minimum subscription - $25,000 pa (exclusive of GST)

Subscriptions are valid for a 12 month period.  A subscriber is entitled to a copy of all imagery funded through the Subscription Plan, licence permitting.  Subscribers have the opportunity to provide input into the setting of priorities for imagery acquisition through the QSIC Spatial Imagery Working Group or by contacting the Subscription Plan Executive. Subscribers don’t have to be Government bodies. Any organisation of individual can join.

Implementation

A Board (the Executive) consists of the spatial imagery coordinator, a QSIC representative and subscribers (Executive Subscribers) with voting rights.

The Executive:

Funds raised and the acquisition and distribution of imagery is managed by the Department of Environment and Resource Management.

Subscriptions

Subscription fees can be paid for by imagery in lieu of financial payment. Imagery to be used in lieu of financial payment will require The Executive’s approval.

Subscribers with voting rights (Executive Subscribers) have proportional voting rights (1 vote per $50,000 to a maximum of 5 votes per agency) on how subscription funds are spent, in consideration of subscribers’ priorities and the Queensland Spatial Imagery Acquisition Program (PDF, 1.3M)* and subject to subscriber’s requirements. Commercial organisations do not have voting rights. For more information, please refer to the Terms and Conditions via the link below.

Organisations may subscribe with a condition of receiving a specific imagery set which is yet to be acquired. This is a Conditional Subscription. If, for what ever reason the imagery is not acquired the Conditional Subscription amount is returned. An organisation using a Conditional Subscription may contribute several times to the one Conditional Subscription. This can assist an organisation’s budgeting process where several amounts can be received over different budget cycles for a particular imagery acquisition. Conditional Subscription requires approval by the Executive.
