Aerial photography
The department has more than 2 million aerial photographs covering all of Queensland.
This aerial photography coverage, which has been captured at different scales and time intervals, is available for loan or purchase.
The latest Aerial Photography, current as of November 2008, is shown on the Queensland Aerial Photography Index Map (PDF, 317K)*.
Proposed future aerial photography capture is outlined in the Queensland Spatial Imagery Acquisition Program (PDF, 1.1M)*.
Products available include:
- contact prints—actual photographic copies that are more accurate than laser copies in scale and colour
- laser copies—coloured photocopies of aerial photographs
- enlargements of part or complete photographs up to ISO A0 sheet size (841mm x 1189mm)
- mosaics—digital products produced by joining individual scanned images across a specified location (e.g. a farm); mosaics are available as CDs or as printed copies.
- scanned images—digital products produced by electronically scanning a photograph for use on a computer.
These products may be purchased through business centres. The aerial photography list of charges applies.
