This data contains information on Queensland's survey control marks.

Coverage

Digital Geodetic Data is available covering the whole of Queensland.

Data Fields

There are over sixty fields of information available, which contain administrative, vertical, horizontal and cadastral connection information on approximately 150,000 survey control marks. Approximately 5,000 new records are created each year.

Products offered

Digital geodetic data is offered in different ways. A licence is required before the data can be used. The departmental Catalogue of Products and Services describes the exact details of individual products. A summary of these follows:

Packaged data
The Survey Control 2008 CD contains information over the whole of state. It is extracted on an annual basis as determined by the Department and supplied on CD as a series of individual files for each local government. It is supplied with a data licence, but options exist if you require other licence permissions. You can access a detailed information sheet for this product.
Comprehensive data
- Geodetic Data - Survey Control Data
  This whole of state dataset contains all of the data fields included in the department’s Survey Control Data Base.
- Geodetic Data - Survey Control Data with Sketches
  This whole of state dataset contains all digital data as well as permanent mark sketch plans.
  The Department is also able to provide digital geodetic data and individual searching for specific areas to meet customer requirements.

Format in which data is supplied

The digital data is available in ASCII format and the images of the permanent mark sketch plans when supplied are in Tiff format. The packaged data product supplied contains data only and appropriate software is required to manipulate the data on the CD.

Data reliability

The data is compiled primarily from the surveying industry's lodgements of geodetic data at departmental offices throughout Queensland. A metadata file will be supplied with the data.

Datum

The geodetic datum for this spatial data is GDA94. Coordinate data for the comprehensive & customised data can be supplied in either grid coordinates (Eastings and Northings) in metres (except Summary Data) or in geographical coordinates (Latitude and Longitude) in decimal degrees.

Licensing

All digital data is supplied with a licence. Different products are available with different licence types that provide different permissions. Information sheets about licensing options and sample licences are available.

Completing an "Order or Quotation request for NRW Licence Data" and returning it to the geodetic contact listed below.
