Solar hot water

Solar thermal systems use sunlight directly for heating water. The two main parts of a solar hot water system for buildings are the solar collector and the storage tank. The collector consists of a thin, flat, rectangular box, a glass cover that helps trap the heat and small tubes that the water passes through. As solar radiation strikes the collector and heats the water, hot water is transferred to the storage tank.
