Camping information
Camping in Goldsborough Valley, Wooroonooran National Park
The Goldsborough Valley camping area provides a number of campsites not far from the refreshing Mulgrave River.
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite.
Park-specific conditions
- Campers with e-permits (booked) must only camp in the numbered campsite(s) they have booked, as identified on the map (PDF, 239K)*.
- Campers with self-registration permits (not booked) must only camp in the self-registration camping areas identified on the map (PDF, 239K)*.
- Campers with camper trailers must only camp in the camper trailer camping areas identified on the map (PDF, 239K)*. These cannot be booked in advance with an e-permit—they are only available to campers with self-registration permits.
- A maximum of two people may camp together on site 3.
- A maximum of four people may camp together on site 4.
- A maximum of six people may camp together on each of the following sites: 1 and 2.
- Fires are only permitted in the fire rings provided. Firewood must not be collected from the park.

Camping area features: shady camping area not far from the Mulgrave River with barbecue and toilet facilities.
Location: past the day-use area, on the left-hand side of the road.
Access: The camping area can be reached by conventional vehicle.
Number of sites: there are 4 numbered sites available (for e-permits). A maximum of 2 people may camp together on site 3, a maximum of 4 people may camp together on site 4 and a maximum of 6 people may camp together on each of the following sites: 1 and 2.
The rest of the camping areas are open without separately defined sites (for self-registration).
Alcoves around the areas provide some separation between some sites.
Campsites are suitable for: camper trailers; tent camping beside your car; walk-in camping; large groups.
Campsite surface: grass.
Facilities: pit and composting toilets, picnic tables, barbecues, fire rings.
Open fires: allowed (except when fire bans or restrictions apply) in fire rings only. Firewood is not provided and must not be collected from the national park.
Generators: not allowed.
Essentials to bring: drinking water, rubbish bags and insect repellent. Read more about things to know before you go.
Bookings: book sites 1, 2, 3 and 4 online, over-the-counter or by phone. All other campsites (including those for camper trailers) can be booked at the self-registration shelter provided at the start of the camping area. Fees apply and should also be paid at the self-registration hut.
Mobile phone coverage: poor.
