Camping in Speewah Conservation Park

Speewah campground is a perfect base for exploring the various walking tracks of nearby Barron Gorge National Park.

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite.

Speewah campground

Campground features: a peaceful and scenic campground in an open grassy area among rainforest trees.

Location: 5.2 km along Stoney Creek Road from the Speewah turn-off on the Kennedy Highway.

Access: the campground can be reached by conventional vehicles. It is accessible for trailers and buses driven with care.

Number of sites: 3 campervan sites (separate but not numbered) and an open area for tents without separately defined sites.

Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping a short distance from your car, and small motorhomes.

Camp site surface: grass.

Facilities: drinking water, picnic tables, gas barbecues, flushing toilets and cold showers (toilets and showers are wheelchair accessible).

Open fires: not allowed. Bring a fuel stove.

Generators: not permitted.

Essentials to bring: fuel stove, first-aid kit, rubbish bags, insect repellent and a screened tent or mosquito net. Read more about things to know before you go.

Bookings: self-registration at the on-site shelter.
