Camping in Davies Creek and Dinden national parks
Camping is available both in Davies Creek National Park and further along Davies Creek Road in Dinden National Park. Both campgrounds have a small number of sites and provide limited facilities—campers must be self-sufficient.
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.
Park-specific conditions
Bookings cannot be made in advance to camp at Davies Creek campground. On arrival visitors must complete a self-registration camping form and lodge fees at the self-registration shelter near the toilets.
Advanced bookings are essential for camping in Dinden campground. Camping is only permitted on the numbered camp site(s) you have booked.
Fires are only permitted in the fireplaces provided. Firewood must not be collected from the parks.

Davies Creek campground

Campground features: camp sites are among granite boulders beside the crystal clear waters of Davies Creek.
Location: 6.2 km from the Kennedy Highway, just off Davies Creek Road.
Access: the campground can be reached by conventional vehicle. The road is not accessible to caravans or trailers. Although the campground is accessible by car, it is necessary to park in one of the car parks and walk a short distance to each camp site.
Number of sites: eight sites (separate but not numbered). The maximum number of people who may camp together on a single camp site is 10.
Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping a short distance away from your car.
Camp site surface: granite gravel, dirt and sand.
Facilities: fireplaces with hotplates, picnic tables and wheelchair-accessible toilets.
Open fires: allowed (except when fire bans apply) in fireplaces only. Firewood is not provided and must not be collected from the park. Bring your own firewood and take any unused firewood home with you. Fuel or gas stoves are recommended.
Generators: not allowed.
Essentials to bring: drinking water (or a water treatment system), rubbish bags, firewood or a fuel or gas stove, comprehensive first-aid kit, insect repellent and sun protection equipment. Read more about things to know before you go.

Dinden campground

Campground features: these popular camp sites are nestled among tall open forest, close to the clear waters of Davies Creek.
Location: 10 km along Davies Creek Road—3.8 km past Davies Creek campground.
Access: four-wheel-drive or high clearance vehicles are recommended.
Number of sites: six numbered sites. The maximum number of people who may camp together on a single camp site is 10. Camping is only permitted on the numbered camp site(s) you have booked.
Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car.
Camp site surface: dirt and sand.
Facilities: pit toilets and fire rings with hotplates. Each toilet is shared between two camp sites.
Open fires: allowed (except when fire bans apply) in fire rings only. Firewood is not provided and must not be collected from the park. Bring your own firewood and take any unused firewood home with you. Fuel or gas stoves are recommended.
Generators: not allowed.
