Camping in Dalrymple National Park
There are two options for camping in and adjacent to Dalrymple National Park.
Burdekin River camping area (managed by QPWS)
Vehicle-based bush camping is permitted on the south-western bank of the Burdekin River at four cleared campsites under the gum trees. No facilities are provided. Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite.
Fletcher Creek camping reserve (managed by the Charters Towers Regional Council)
This is a free camping area at the entrance to the park on Fletcher Creek. Tent and caravan sites are available and facilities include picnic shelters, tables, toilets, cold showers and wood barbecues.

Burdekin River camping area
Campground features: a peaceful setting on the banks of the Burdekin River, with no facilities.
Location: near the entrance to the park, 700 metres from the main gate.
Access: when dry, access along the unsealed section of road to the campground is accessible to all vehicle types with care. The road is closed during wet periods, which may occur between November and March.
Number of sites: four.
Campsites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car and camper trailers.
Campsite surface: dirt.
Facilities: none.
Open fires: prohibited.
Generators: not permitted.

Mobile phone coverage: generally not available.
Fletcher Creek camping reserve (managed by the Charters Towers Regional Council)
Campground features: a free camping area on the banks of Fletcher Creek, with some facilities.
Location: before the entrance to the park, just off the highway. Visitors can camp along either side of the creek.
Access: turn off the Gregory Development Road at Fletcher creek. The campground can be reached by conventional vehicle. It is accessible for trailers and caravans.
Number of sites: open area without separately defined sites.
Campsites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car, caravans, camper trailers and small motorhomes.
Campsite surface: dirt.
Facilities: flushing toilets, cold showers, picnic shelters, tables and wood barbecues.
Open fires: allowed (except when fire bans apply).
Generators: permitted.

Bookings: no booking required. It is managed by Charters Towers Regional Council.
Mobile phone coverage: generally not available.
