Frequently asked questions

How do we reserve the shelter shed or wedding sites?

Contact DERM Permits and Licencing Management to find out dates available and make a temporary booking.

You will need to complete a group activity permit application form and return your completed form with the appropriate payment. Fees are detailed at the end of this form. A permit will be forwarded to you.

Temporary bookings will be cancelled if payment is not received within four weeks.

Can we decorate the wedding venue?

Decorations, signs or any similar device must be either free-standing or tied to the facility, not nailed or tacked, and must be removed at the end of the ceremony.

Can we play music or use speakers during our ceremony?

Yes, but only a portable, battery-powered player is permitted.

Music should not cause unreasonable noise.

Can we erect a marquee/tent or other structure?

No, but a free-standing shade shelter without sides is permitted.

Ropes must not be tied between trees.

In wet weather is there an alternative venue or shelter available?

The Forest Amphitheatre may be an alternative wet weather venue to the Grey Gum site. You would need to negotiate this at your time of booking. Keep in mind that the Forest Amphitheatre only has seating available for up to 40 adults.

Can our guests throw confetti or rice?

No, this is not permitted in either of the permit sites. Bubbles are a lovely substitute.

Can we use alcohol to drink a toast after the ceremony?

Yes, but only in moderation.

Will our wedding photographer need a permit?

No, this is covered by the group acitivity permit for your wedding.

Are we entitled to reserve any car spaces?

This permit does not entitle the holder to reserve any car spaces. As there are a limited number available, please car-pool if possible.

Are we entitled to a refund if we cancel our booking?

The application fee is not refundable. The balance of the fee is only refundable if cancellation is made at least 14 days in advance.
