Camping information
Camping in Burrum Coast National Park
Camping is permitted in the Woodgate and Kinkuna Sections of the park, but not in the Burrum River Section. A range of camping experiences is available from bush camping at Kinkuna to camping with facilities at Woodgate. Both provide close access to the water and beach activities.
Camping permits are required and fees apply.

Kinkuna
Campground features: Bush camping is permitted behind fragile foredunes, just a short walk to the water and beach.
Location: Behind the beach foredunes.
Access: The campground can be reached by 4WD vehicle only. It is not recommended for trailers, caravans or buses. Wet weather access may be restricted due to local flooding. During wet conditions, the Woodgate-Palm Beach road through Kinkuna is closed. Use only established access points across the dunes to reach the beach.
Number of sites: 40 (not individually numbered).
Campsites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car.
Campsite surfaces: Sand.
Facilities: There are no facilities at Kinkuna.
Open fires: Allowed (except when fire bans apply) but fuel stoves are recommended.
Generators: Not permitted.
Essentials to bring: Food, drinking water, fuel, medical supplies, rubbish bags and insect repellent. Fuel stoves are recommended. Read more about things to know before you go.
Bookings: Book online, over-the-counter or by phone. Bookings can also be made in person at the Woodgate General Store. Camping tags are available from information shelters at the southern and northern entrances to the camping area at Kinkuna. Record your booking number on your camping tag.
Mobile phone coverage: Generally not available.
Burrum Point campground

Campground features: The campground is behind fragile foredunes, just a short walk to the water and beach. Boating, canoeing and fishing are popular activities on the Burrum River.
Location: At Burrum Point.
Access: The campground can be reached by 4WD only from Childers or Bundaberg. It is not recommended for trailers, caravans or buses. If travelling with trailers or caravans it is advisable to check road conditions before entering. Wet weather access may be restricted due to local flooding. Driving on sand requires some care to protect both you and the fragile sand environment.
Number of sites: 13 numbered sites. Site number is allocated when booking.
Campsites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car.
Campsite surfaces: Sand.
Facilities: Water, cold showers and toilets. Please reduce your impact on this ecosystem by not using external showers and soap in the campground; use the showers provided.
Open fires: Prohibited.
Generators: Not permitted.
