NTCO meetings

Throughout the year Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land Services may hold meetings with all native title contact officers (NTCOs) to discuss relevant issues and distribute information. The frequency of the meetings depends on the issues arising through the year.

The meetings are run by the Policy unit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land Services. Topics covered include:

The meetings are meant to help NTCOs in their role so the topics covered need to be relevant. Consequently, two weeks before each meeting an email is sent to all NTCOs requesting suggestions for the agenda. NTCOs are encouraged to participate in this process.

A few days after the meeting, the meeting memorandum is emailed to all NTCOs. The memorandum summarises the topics discussed at the meeting and lists action items which NTCOs' or other officers in a department/agency are asked to complete within a specified time frame.
