Background

The study aims to resolve the Indigenous land use agreements for the Mamu people and Djiru people #3 native title claimant applications, and provide planning certainty for local governments, State agencies and the community.

The study will determine the most appropriate use for the sites under Section 16 of the Land Act 1994.

Possible uses for the land include urban, rural (e.g. agriculture or grazing), residential, industrial, commercial or recreational purposes, conservation, infrastructure (e.g. road works, power, water etc.) flood control and scenic amenity.
