Representative bodies and service providers
Native title representative bodies are organisations the federal government recognises as representing Indigenous interests in all native title matters in a particular region. Queensland has the following representative bodies:
- the Torres Strait Regional Authority
- the Carpentaria Land Council Aboriginal Corporation
- the Cape York Land Council Aboriginal Corporation
- the North Queensland Land Council Native Title Representative Body Aboriginal Corporation
Native title service providers
Native title service providers are funded by the federal government to carry out most of the functions of a native title representative body, and provide professional services to native title parties in accordance with the Native Title Act 1993. Queensland has the following service provider:
- Queensland South Native Title Services Ltd
