1902
Personal income tax was introduced.
The Pacific Cable Station was established at Bauer Street, Southport. The station carried the communications to the world for the next 60 years.
1905
Women are given the right to vote in Queensland.
1908
Public movie cinemas were introduced in Brisbane.
1911
Queensland's first university, the University of Queensland, opened with an enrolment of 60 students.
The first national census showed the population of Queensland was 605,813.
1915
Compulsory voting was introduced.
1920
Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Ltd (QANTAS) established in Longreach
