In this context, short-term horticultural crops are those that have a production regime that requires a high frequency of soil tillage. Short-term horticultural crops include vegetables, some fruits, turf and ornamental plants and flowers. Management activities associated with crop production can have serious on and offsite effects on productive capacity and ecological and landscape processes.
