In this context, horticulture refers to the cultivation of flowers, fruits, nuts, vegetables, turf and ornamental plants. This cultivation occurs in orchards, gardens, nurseries, greenhouses or plantations on a large or small scale.
Land practices associated with horticulture may include:
- Native or remant vegetation management
- Long-term horticultural crop management
- Short-term horticultural crop management
- Water management
