The Queensland Stock Route Network Management Strategy 2009-14 (PDF, 320K)* is a requirement of the Land Protection (Pest and Stock Route Management) Act 2002. Its purpose is to direct and coordinate management of the stock route network in Queensland, recognising travelling stock as the network’s primary use.
The strategy captures all stock routes, reserves for travelling stock and infrastructure within the network and its scope includes the management and use of the stock route network in terms of stock route activities only. It does not attempt to manage other activities that may occur on these lands, although it does recognise that they occur.
