Permit and agreement fees are payable to the local government issuing the permit/agreement. Local government are required to remit 50 per cent of these fees to the Department of Environment and Natural Resource Management. The department reinvests these funds into the management of the stock route network, primarily through funding to local governments for stock route water facility maintenance.
