Mooloolaba Spit Futures Plan

The Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM) has released the final Mooloolaba Spit Futures Plan (PDF, 3.2M)*  which seeks to ensure a sustainable future and balanced use of the Mooloolaba Spit. The plan was developed jointly with the Sunshine Coast Regional Council (SCRC).

The plan is the result of extensive consultation with residents, leaseholders, interest groups, state government agencies and local businesses.

The Mooloolaba Spit Futures Plan provides a framework for the ongoing enhancement of the Spit—while protecting the environment and lifestyles of the local community and the viability of local businesses.

Technical reports

A number of technical reports were prepared as part of the Mooloolaba Spit Futures Plan to ensure a future vision that maximises community benefit, is in keeping with the region, and addresses the needs of the site from a social, economic and environmental perspective.
