Property-level planning
Landholders use property plans to document property resources and management practices, and to design property changes.
They function as:
- a strategy to meet financial, production and personal goals
- a management tool for developing a property sustainably and profitably
- a record demonstrating that environmental obligations in natural resource management are being met.
To date, there are property plans for:
- land management
- water conservation
- vegetation management
- biodiversity planning
- cane production
- pest control.
Property plans may be voluntary, a regulatory requirement, or needed to support an application for financial assistance.
OnePlan
The department is developing a new framework for property planning under the OnePlan initiative, which is part of the Queensland Government's Blueprint for the Bush, a 10-year plan to build a sustainable, liveable and prosperous rural Queensland.
