NAP for salinity and water quality
State-level Water Quality Projects
Six state-level water quality projects have been developed and approved under the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality (NAP) to provide water quality tools, information and support to Regional Bodies in NAP regions.
The six WQ state level projects funded under NAP have specific aims and outcomes relevant to Regional Bodies in NAP regions (see WQ project summary (PDF, 113K)*).
WQ01: Framework and processes for target-setting and monitoring.
WQ02: Collation and assessment of existing water quality information.
WQ03: Modelling landscape processes, management impacts and catchment loads.
WQ04: Riverine habitat condition assessment and review of management guidelines.
WQ05: Enhance community capacity to undertake monitoring of water quality.
WQ06: Water quality impacts on ecosystem health.
Within and across these six projects sit a number of tasks that are designed to assist Regional Bodies with water quality and river health assessment and planning. These outcomes will play an integral role in the preparation and implementation of Regional Natural Resource Management (NRM) Plans and investment strategies.
