Fitzroy Basin environmental values
In September 2011, the environmental values (EVs) and water quality objectives (WQOs) for Fitzroy Basin waters were finalised and are now included in schedule 1 of the Environmental Protection (Water) Policy – the EPP Water. This followed a process of planning and stakeholder consultation on EVs that ran from 2009 to 2011.

This report outlines the approach taken to derive water quality guidelines for surface waters in the Fitzroy Basin. An earlier draft of this report was released during public consultation stage.
This paper establishes water quality guidelines for fish species in Fitzroy Basin fresh waters, focussed on the main river trunks.

This paper outlines the approach used in deriving guidelines for the Fitzroy River estuary.
- Regional chemistry of the Fitzroy Basin groundwater (PDF, 1.8M)*
This report identifies a series of water quality guidelines for different groundwater types throughout the basin. Draft guidelines were released for comment during the public consultation stage.
- The economic and social impacts of protecting the environmental values of the Fitzroy Basin waters (PDF, 1.1M)*
This report addresses the requirement in the EPP Water to consider the social/economic effects of protecting water quality. An earlier draft of this report was released for comment during the public consultation stage
This report details the process of stakeholder consultation undertaken during the project with particular emphasis on the initial EVs consultation workshops. An earlier draft of this report was released during the public consultation stage.

This report identifies the key issues raised by stakeholders during the Fitzroy EV project, and provides a response to each issue. It also summarises consultation activities undertaken throughout the project, including those undertaken during and after the public release of draft EV materials.
