Waste and recycling reports
Below are the department's reports on the state of waste and recycling in Queensland. The reports characterise the recycling stream and provide details on the volumes and types of wastes going to landfill annually. The reports also discuss trends and highlight changes that have occurred since 1997/98, when comprehensive data was first collected for the State and addresses local and regional variations in recycling and waste generation.
The reports include information for local governments in Queensland on:
- types and volumes of materials collected for recycling;
- types and volumes of materials landfilled;
- per capita rates for recyclate generation and collection;
- landfill diversion rates;
- aggregate data for recycling infrastructure, including estimates on the number of kerbside recycling programs, drop-off centres, and materials recovery facilities; and
- trends in recycling rates since 1997-98.
