Bin Caps and Signage
What is on offer?
Bin caps (waste and recycling) are available for application to 240Litre wheelie bins. By applying the bin caps the recycling option becomes more identifiable to the general public and recycling streams are less likely to become contaminated from food scraps. Coreflute signage is also available for placement above the bins.

At the back of house signage is available for placement in the waste and recycling bulking up areas so that staff can clearly identify where the different material streams should go.
Other promotional materials are available to raise the awareness of recycling with the public, staff and vendors and these can be found on the awareness raising materials page.
What do I need to do?
To be eligible applicants must:
- fill out a Bin Caps and Signage Application form
- have, or plan to have a recycling collection service in place that will utilise 240L wheelie bins
- have responsibility for the waste and recycling management
- if running events, run more than 5 events per annum.
- complete the application form and agree to the terms and conditions
- go through PPR checklist and provide the department with a completed copy of the recycling management plan to support the application
- agree to the application of the QLD Government PPR 'Do the right thing, use the right bin' awareness raising material, and this will be made available free of charge from the Public Place Recycling Catalogue. Applicants also have the option to incorporate the logo of their organisation into the artwork, but in doing so will be required to meet the cost of the customised printing.
- Where applicable provide the PPR package at no extra costs to a given event (e.g. waste contractors will not be permitted to charge for the use of the package that has been obtained from the QLD Government and partners free of charge)
Partnership applications e.g. between Councils and managers are to be encouraged. All applications will be assessed on a case by case basis. The department will then design a package suitable for the applicant. Please forward applications to publicplace.recycling@epa.qld.gov.au
