Waste Reduction and Recycling Business Plan 2011–2015
The Waste Reduction and Recycling Business Plan 2011–2015 (the business plan) (PDF, 1.6M)* was developed to bring the overarching three goals of Queensland’s Waste Reduction and Recycling Strategy 2010–2020 (PDF, 462K)* to life. The goals are to reduce waste, optimise the use of resources, and create jobs in resource recovery and recycling.
The business plan introduces tangible programs that aim to achieve these goals and change the way Queenslanders think and act in resource management and waste disposal. The programs were developed using learnings from other jurisdictions, advice and input from key Queensland experts, and research and analysis.
The funding to implement the four year business plan comes from a $159M Waste Avoidance and Resource Efficiency (WARE) fund built by the Industry Waste Levy.
