On Wednesday 24 September 2008 QWESTNet held a carbon footprinting forum in partnership with the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation and in association with local Chambers of Commerce.
Presenters explored what carbon footprinting means for small to medium enterprises and what can be done reduce your carbon footprint by improving your water, energy and waste efficiencies.

Stuart opened the forum by explaining carbon footprinting and providing an overview of a firm's exposure to emissions trading imposts. He also identified opportunities as consumers integrate greenhouse information into their decision making and purchase decisions.

Darryl Patching, ARUP Consultants
Darryl provided an overview of technologies and processes that can assist SME's reduce their energy usage or change the type of energy used, in order to reduce their carbon footprint and reduce costs. His presentation focused on practical experience gained from various environmental roles in Brisbane City Council (BCC), carbon accounting projects for various Arup clients including Ergon Energy, Energex and RACQ, and as an ecoBiz Queensland Facilitator.
