2009 Queensland Sustainable Industries Awards winners announced
The Queensland Sustainable Industries Awards showcase Queensland business leaders, companies and technologies that have set new benchmarks in environmental performance.
The fourth annual awards gala dinner, held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday 12 June, recognised seven outstanding environmental business projects, as well as the Premier's Award for outstanding individuals. All demonstrate a powerful contribution to achieving a sustainable future.
Winners include Australia's first self sustaining eco-industrial estate, an innovative fresh-food distributor, state-of-the-art university building, recycled goods business, chemical-free printer, cane compost business, and a dust suppression product for mine areas.
The Queensland Sustainable Industries Awards sit perfectly with three of the Queensland Government's Toward Q2 Tomorrow's Queensland ambitions—strong, smart and green—by building on our strengths and protecting our lifestyle and environment.
