Awards categories and selection criteria
A panel of judges, including independent and industry experts, will assess submissions. The panel will use a combination of generic selection criteria and category-specific criteria to assess entries.

- Demonstrated leadership and innovation in environmental best practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to make business sustainability and eco-efficiency cornerstone business priorities.

Industrial Eco-efficiency Award
Awarded to an industry organisation for overall eco-efficiency performance.
Key selection criteria:
- Demonstrated improvements in eco-efficiency.
- Demonstrated achievement of environmental best practice and integration with business strategy.

Corporate Sustainability Award Awarded to an organisation for leadership in the development and adoption of sustainable management practices.
Key selection criteria
- Demonstrated leadership and innovation in developing and implementing management practices that achieve improved efficiency and focus on environmental best practice and corporate social responsibility.
- Demonstrated improvements in environmental and financial performance as a result of sustainable management practices.
- Evidence of market profile and penetration through business sustainability strategy.

Innovation in Sustainable Technologies Award
Awarded to an organisation or individual for development of technologies or technological process improvements that achieve increased sustainability by saving energy or water, reducing waste, or delivering another form of environmental benefit.
Key selection criteria
- Demonstrated environmental benefits, in the form of water or energy savings, waste reduction, or reduced environmental impact as a result of a new technology or technological process improvement.
- Potential for the new technology or process improvement to be adapted or adopted on a wider scale.

Sustainability in Public Sector or Community Initiatives Award
Awarded to a division of local or State Government, government-owned corporation, or community organisation, for achievements towards sustainability in partnership with industry.
Key selection criteria
- Demonstrated commitment to work with industry to improve sustainability and eco-efficiency.
- Demonstrated industry improvements in environmental and economic performance.
- Demonstrated value of public-private sector partnerships in promoting sustainable development.

Sustainability in Urban Development or the Built Environment Award
Awarded to an organisation for innovative sustainability in urban development or the built environment.
Key selection criteria
- Demonstrated environmental benefits and function in an urban development or built environment project.
- Demonstrated leadership and innovation in developing and promoting built design and development solutions that improve eco-efficiency and advance sustainable living.
- Integration of natural amenity with built form.

Rural Sustainability Award
Awarded to an organisation for innovation in sustainable agribusiness and sustainable use of Queensland's natural capital.
Key selection criteria
- Demonstrated environmental benefits, in the form of reduced water or energy use, waste reduction, or reduced environmental impact in an agribusiness or rural enterprise.
- Demonstrated commitment to leadership and innovation in the advancement and development of sustainable agribusiness.
- Demonstrated land stewardship for environmental sustainability.

Minister's Award for ClimateSmart Leadership
Awarded to an organisation for leadership and innovation in climate protection.
Key selection criteria
- Demonstrated reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and pollution.
- Demonstrated commitment to innovation and leadership in the development of technologies, process improvements or policy changes that have potential to reduce Queensland's greenhouse footprint on a wider scale.
- Demonstrated commitment to increasing awareness of climate change in the community, and promoting business and industry change to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
