About the rebate
The Queensland Government's By-catch Project provides funding to assist the commercial fishing industry reduce by-catch and its impact on our marine environment. This initiative is administered by the department and offers rebate assistance to commercial fishers to install hoppers on their vessels.
The department is offering commercial fishers a rebate of up to $30,000 for the purchase and installation costs of hoppers for existing vessels. Rebates are limited to a maximum of 80 percent of total project cost. Rebate conditions, eligibility criteria, information on how to apply and an application form is contained in the Hopper Rebate Guidelines.
