State of the Environment Queensland 2003
State of the Environment Queensland 2003 is the second report on the condition of Queensland's environment.
The report was compiled by expert working groups established for each chapter, and their names are listed at the beginning of each. The chapters have been reviewed by external expert referees, relevant Queensland Government departments and statisticians. The department gratefully acknowledges the efforts of all authors, working group members and reviewers, without whose expertise and time this report would not be possible.
A large volume of information, drawn from a wide range of sources, was collated, interpreted and used in this report. Sources are cited throughout the text. Published citations can be found in the reference lists at the end of each chapter. Much of the information in this report has been provided by organisation and individuals, both government and private, and the department gratefully acknowledges the use of the data.
Implementing the legislation
While the State of the Environment Queensland 2003 report explores our progress towards a clean, liveable and healthy environment; the sustainable use of our natural resources; and the maintenance of biodiversity, the section of the report, Implementing the legislation (PDF, 5.7M)*, attempts to evaluate the effectiveness of environmental strategies associated with the Environmental Protection and Coastal Acts.
