State of the environment
The Queensland Government, with DERM as lead agency, produces a State of the Environment (SoE) report every four years. The following have been completed to date:
- State of the Environment Report 2007
- State of the Environment Report 2003
- State of the Environment Report 1999
The reports describe:
- the pressures acting on the state's air, land, inland and coastal waters, biodiversity, and natural and cultural heritage
- the state or condition of the environment
- the responses by society to reduce pressures and protect and conserve the state's natural and cultural heritage.
The reports are an important part of environmental management in Queensland. The information they provide helps the community, industry and government work towards improved environmental management and the sustainable use of natural resources.
See SoE Online for up-to-date environmental information and statistics.
