Binary Remediation Updates - 21st May 2007
Weekly update
Monday 21 May 2007 to Friday 25 May 2007
A summary of progress and site conditions between Monday 21 May 2007 and Friday 25 May 2007 is provided below:
- Pond 2 has been backfilled and surveyed for final backfill volumes;
- The remediation site received 5 mm of rainfall this week;
- The department continues to treat contaminated stormwater collected on the site using the specially constructed treatment pond on the project site. The treated water is being discharged to the Caboolture Shire Council sewer at a rate of 100,000 litres a day;
- Water continues to be removed from Pond 1 in preparation for remediation works.
The department has been supervising all works conducted on the site.
